The Peace Boat works to promote peace and human rights, enabling people to engage across boarders in dialogue and Mutual Corporation at sea. (www.peaceboat.org) The Peace Boat is a non-governmental organization that travels around the world to promote peace and human rights.  Their use of a neutral, mobile space, gives them a unique platform to engage cross-culturally to develop dialogue and cooperation on humanitarian issues.

 Universal Models for Peace is a network of fashion and media experts working together to help generate models of sustainable solutions to current local and global issues. By creating partnerships from the worlds of art and commerce Universal Models For Peace uses its vast network of leaders in fashion, music, film and finance to help highlight the efforts of organizations, companies, and individuals committed to creating partnerships which honor the realization of the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals.

Most recently the organization is expanding their network of collaborators globally with the Peace Boat helping them in doing their important relief work world wide. Universal Models For Peace heralds the ideas that they deliver and live by, and their strong belief in the values and principles of the United Nations. The Peace Boat is an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations which gives them a voice on the global arena. The organizations are forming a strategic partnership.

UMP attended the Newark Peace Summit, alongside H.H. the Dalai Lama, and other Nobel Peace Laureates, acted as representatives of World of Hope International. This year on International Women’s Day, UMP members along with President Sara Hirsch and Founder Michael William-Paul worked as a key organizer behind the first annual World Fashion Forum at the United Nations, a meeting of leaders in fashion, media, entertainment, and global humanitarian politics, to discuss the future of the fashion industry’s role in global philanthropy and outreach, and the crucial role of fashion’s marketing power as a tool for ethical and economic empowerment.
